The well-known brand Cacharel was created by the talented French designer Jean Bousquet, born in Nîmes, (later known as "Jean Cacharel"), when in 1962 decided to establish his company in Paris thanks to its early success in the fashion world.

The creation that led him to fame it was the first shirt designed for women, easy and comfortable to wear. This joined the women's liberation movement that hit the mainstream of the time.
