The PRADA company was founded in 1913 by Mario Prada. In the first years, the company was dedicated to the design and sale of suitcases, bags and shoes in Milan. In 1978, the company underwent a major turnaround when the founder's granddaughter Miuccia Prada took over the management of the company. In 1989, Miuccia presented her first ready-to-wear collection, which, instead of leather goods and shoes, surprised with a selection of elegant and simple garments. In 1992, Miuccia created the Miu Miu brand, which was intended to be cheaper and younger. In 2003, Prada tried its hand in the world of perfumery, entrusting production to the Spanish company Puig .
