This serum contains the quintessential anti-aging ingredient that we all want in our skin, retinol.
It is a derivative of vitamin A that when in contact with the skin is transformed into retinoic acid, and favors skin texture and collagen synthesis, increases skin hydration and acts as an antioxidant. It also helps regulate sebum production, making it useful for oily and acne-prone skin.
This formula also contains aloe vera, hydrating, soothing and repairing, and niacinamides and spirulina extract, both antioxidants that brighten, hydrate and help prevent spots.
It contains antioxidantssuch as copper tripeptide , which aims to soften the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, given that as we age, the amount of copper peptides in our body decreases.
Due to the percentage of retinol , we do not recommend the use of this product for pregnant or breastfeeding women.
Don't be afraid of retinol! Its effects are amazing, but read carefully.
The easiest way to use it:
If you're going to start introducing retinol into your routine, make sure you only start with it in your nighttime routine. Apply it to clean, dry skin before your moisturizer - if your skin is sensitive, you can apply a thin layer of moisturizer before the retinol (Meisani's Niacinamide Cucumber Aqua Gel Cream would be perfect for this purpose) or even pour a couple of drops of this serum in your usual moisturizer when you have it in your hand so that your skin gets used to it little by little.
Because yes, the skin goes through a process of getting used to retinol called retinization. In this process you may feel a little dryness, tightness, peeling... it is something totally normal, and that is the reason why we advise you to start using it at first only at night, little by little, and with a moisturizer that Strengthen the barrier function on your skin.
Remember:
Start by applying it one day a week. It will be enough if you have never used it and your skin is not used to it. - You will always, always have to apply SPF50+ protector the next morning. - Do not combine exfoliation, acids or peels with retinol either in the same routine or during the first weeks in which you are introducing it. If you are a beginner, your skin will thank you.
Strengthening your skin's barrier function when using retinol is always a good idea. Meisani's Rice & Shine Hyaluronic Acid Essence Toner will be a super good combination!
After approximately a month of regular use only at night, depending on your skin's tolerance, you can begin to increase the frequency of application during the week until using it every other day. When the time comes, you can also use it during the day (if you are not going to be exposed to the sun directly) but always, always with SPF50+ sunscreen.
