IMPORTANT NOTE:
We believe that the best way to feed a baby is breastfeeding. Breast milk provides the baby with a balanced diet and ideal protection against diseases. We strongly support the recommendation of the World Health Organization to offer exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, followed by the introduction of adequate and nutritious complementary feeding, and to continue breastfeeding until two years of life. We also recognize that breastfeeding is not always an option for all parents. For this reason, we recommend consulting with your health professional on how to feed your baby. If you choose not to breastfeed, remember that this decision can be difficult to reverse and that the partial introduction of a bottle will reduce the supply of breast milk. Parents should consider the socioeconomic implications of using an infant formula. Since babies grow at different rates, talk to your health professional about the right time to start solid foods. Infant formula and complementary feeding must always be prepared, used and stored following the instructions on the labels to avoid risks to the health of the baby.
