The Galgos 112 association was created in 2008 in Catalonia by a group of people with a common purpose: to contribute to the recognition of greyhounds, greyhounds and hounds as pets in Spain and in the world.
Years of experience have shown them that the overexploitation and mistreatment suffered by hunting dogs in general and greyhounds and hounds in particular, will not be solved if the mentality of the many people who still see them as mere tools does not change . In 2021 it was calculated that in Spain about 50,000 hunting dogs are abandoned every year.
Among its objectives are:
• Denounce the situation of exploitation and mistreatment to which greyhounds, greyhounds and podencos are subjected, throughout the world and particularly in Spain.
• Promote their responsible ownership as companion animals .
• Manage for these dogs, once recovered, responsible adoptions .
• Collaborate in the modification and correct application of current regulations on the protection of animals .
• Procure personalized veterinary treatments for animals that have suffered this situation.
They are in a very difficult time, in just this month of January they have rescued more than 20 greyhounds and many of them need cures and veterinary help to move on, but, above all, they need help for Brisa .
What do they need the money for?
The money raised will go to help little Brisa , a greyhound dog who was abandoned and run over to her near death. Fortunately, the association saved her, but she needs several operations and interventions to move on. At the moment, they have spent more than €2,000 and need our help to continue treating her and to cover the cost of her next 2 remaining operations. Let's save Brisa!
